About
We built the tool we wanted when we were reading feedback by hand
Meridel is a small, independent company. We help small software teams hear what their customers ask for, and decide what to build next.
Our story
From a shared spreadsheet to a short list
In 2023, Ines ran product at a twenty-person software company. Every month she copied support tickets, call notes and survey answers into a spreadsheet, tagged them by hand, and tried to count what customers asked for most. It took two days, and the counts were wrong as soon as she finished.
Tomas, an engineer on the same team, thought a computer should do the sorting and a person should make the call. They built the first version of Meridel on weekends, for their own planning meeting.
Where we are now
Today Meridel reads feedback for more than a hundred teams, most of them between five and fifty people. We are twelve people ourselves, we work from three countries, and we are funded by our customers.
We still use Meridel to plan Meridel. Every theme on our own roadmap links back to the customers who asked for it.
What we value
Four things we try to get right
Customers in their own words
A quote beats a summary. We keep what people actually said next to every theme, every count and every decision.
Less time sorting, more time deciding
The tool does the dull part. People do the part that needs judgement, and the tool says where it is unsure.
Private by default
Feedback is full of personal details. We remove them before we store anything, and we never sell or share data.
Small and plain
We would rather ship one feature that works than three that almost do. Our writing, pricing and product stay simple.
